Babysitter Bails Out of Jail
Charged with negligent child abuse resulting in death of 1-year-old
Omaha, NE - The woman now charged in the death of a little boy bailed out of jail Wednesday.
Prosecutors charged 33-year-old Elizabeth Harding with negligent child abuse resulting in death.
Omaha Police say she was taking care of Chase Hunter last month when he became tangled in a car seat harness while taking a nap. He later died.
Investigators say Harding operated an unlicensed daycare in her home. Douglas County prosecutors say she was babysitting for five children, plus her own three children when Hunter died.
A judge set Harding's bond at $5,000 and told her she can not have any contact with anyone under the age of 16, other than her own children.
Harding has a 7, 5 and 3 year old.
Harding's next court appearance is April 15th.
If convicted, Harding faces 20 years in prison and $25,000 in fines.
