Fremont, NE  - A Nebraska pet food company is recalling several products due to possible health risk.

Natura Pet Products is voluntarily recalling  EVO, Innovay, California Natural and Healthwise brand pet foods because it may be contaminated with Salmonella.

The Fremont-based company says routine testing by the Michigan Department of Agriculture found Salmonella in the food from a single plant made sometime in December 2012.

The company warns Salmonella can affect animals eating the food and can affect humans handling the contaminated products, especially if they have not thoroughly washed their hands.

Infected people could show symptoms including: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, abdominal cramping and fever.

Anyone with these symptoms should call a doctor immediately.

Customers who have purchased the contaminated dry pet foods should throw them away.
